Documentary, live show and extras with Roxette! Considering that Roxette is one of Scandinavia’s most successful acts ever, it’s about time a documentary on their phenomenal career sees the light of day. And considering that the group played in front of 1.5 million people in 46 countries during their sensational comeback tour 2011-2012, it’s about time for a concert film that shows where this magnificently rejuvenated group stands today. All this and a lot more is included in the Blu-ray/dvd/cd package “Roxette Live: Travelling The World” which will be released on December 6, making it a no-brainer Christmas gift for the world’s Roxette fans. Fact is, Roxette hasn’t released any filmed live material since “The Johannesburg Concert” video and laserdisc, recorded in front of 52 000 people during the “Crash! Boom! Bang!” tour on January 14 1995. Given that Marie Fredriksson spent most of the 00’s battling a severe form of brain tumour, the gap between the group’s golden years and the unexpected return to the world stages in 2011-2012 was filled with more despair, hope and dramatic turning points than most bands experience in their lifetime. It’s all here. For starters we get a complete live show, featuring 90 minutes of Roxette in their most inspired and energized stage mode, recorded in Curitiba in Brazil, Cordoba in Argentina and Santiago in Chile. By this time the year-long touring had had trimmed the band into a relentless rock machine with an energy level that seemed constantly on top. From the opening song “Dressed For Success” to the rousing sing-a-long party of the final encore “Church Of Your Heart”, the film is a brilliant document of the ecstatic atmosphere during the South American tour in the spring of 2012. Besides the concert film, the package also includes the captivating documentary “It All Begins Where It Ends”, filmed during the eighteen months when Roxette made their unique return to the world’s stages. We’ll follow the band backstage, on the tour bus, in airports, meet fans from all over the planet, and get to hear the stories behind a musical career that would exceed Marie Fredriksson’s and Per Gessle’s wildest dreams. The package also includes a live CD with 16 songs recorded at the Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile, on May 12 2012-a show the band members themselves regarded as one of the tour’s highlights. And then there are all the extras: Per Gessle’s often hilarious backstage films on the road, before and after shows, and during the recording of the “Travelling” album. An interview with guitar tech Mikael Nogueira-Svensson gives you an insight in life on stage, beside the spotlight. There will also be a simultaneous digital release of the live cd from Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago for downloading and streaming. This version will include two bonus songs; “Silver Blue”, the live favourite that the international Roxette fans urged the band to put on their set list, and the acoustic encore “Church Of Your Heart”.
