Since its inception in 1998, the MOMENTUM Biennial in Moss, Norway, has striven to present compelling works of art and outstanding artistic ventures in a Nordic context. Now, after 20 years, one of the oldest Nordic biennials celebrates its 10th edition with a program presenting 29 international artists. While rediscovering iconic works shown in previous editions, MOMENTUM10 also presents relevant new positions. Having worked with the likes of Daniel Birnbaum and Olafur Eliasson, the biennial also gives space for continuous discussion on the notion of the Nordic.
This book looks back at the nine previous editions of the biennale, remembering or reconfiguring moments that can define the present time. MOMENTUM10: The Emotional Reader is focused on the history of MOMENTUM and includes interviews with former curators such as LARS BANG LARSEN, DANIEL BIRNBAUM, POWER EKROTH, JONATAN HABIB ENGQVIST, and AURA SEIKKULA.
