One thing that is interesting is that Jagged Edge, like Fates Warning did, they blends clean guitars and overdriven metal guitars and generate a sort of melancholic feel, but without ever entering into progressive territory. Jagged Edge is straight hard rock and commercial metal, and has more in common overall with the likes of Def Leppard. ‘Fuel For Your Soul’ starts strong with “Liar” and buried at the very end of the twelve song recording with “Burnin’ Up”, a main mover of the album. Vocalist Matt Alphonzetti is thrust in the spotlight throughout this set of original tracks, showing off his killer pipes. The band toured with Ozzy Osbourne in the UK during June and July 1988 to promote this album, one of the better glam/pop metal albums of that era.
